Strengthening seismically vulnerable reinforced concrete flat plate‐column connections by installing wing walls

This study emphasizes a new strengthening scheme for seismically vulnerable flat plate-column connections in existing structures. An experimental investigation on series of three half-scaled interior was conducted to explore the effectiveness proposed seismic method using postinstalled RC wing walls and analyze punching shear capacity connections. focuses typical plate structures constructed low-strength concrete Bangladesh. Two specimens had employed two principal directions, that is, along loading direction orthogonal direction, while another specimen tested without served as control comparisons between cases with strengthening. Static cyclic vertical displacements increasing amplitude were applied ends slabs represent interstory drift under action. Both strengthened showed higher resistance failure.
